How This Converter Works
Returns the principal arccosine of a real input in the domain -1 through 1, in radians and degrees. The radians field is the direct JavaScript Math.acos result; the degrees field converts it using 180 / pi. Inputs outside the domain are not rejected and display NaN.
Formula or rule
radians = acos(x); degrees = radians * 180 / pi
Example
- Input
- 0
- Calculation
- acos(0) = pi / 2 radians; (pi / 2) * 180 / pi
- Result
- 1.5707963267948966 radians; 90 degrees
