How This Converter Works
Returns the principal arcsine of a real input in the domain -1 through 1, in radians and degrees. The radians field is the direct JavaScript Math.asin result; the degrees field converts it using 180 / pi. Inputs outside the domain are not rejected and display NaN.
Formula or rule
radians = asin(x); degrees = radians * 180 / pi
Example
- Input
- 0.5
- Calculation
- asin(0.5) = pi / 6 radians; (pi / 6) * 180 / pi
- Result
- 0.5235987755982989 radians; 29.999999999999996 degrees
