How This Converter Works
Calculates arccotangent using atan(1/x), adding pi when that value is negative. The result is displayed in radians and degrees without rounding. This implementation chooses the range (0, pi], with arccot(0)=pi/2; it performs no input validation.
Formula or rule
r = atan(1/x); if r < 0 then r = r + pi; degrees = r * 180 / pi
Example
- Input
- -1
- Calculation
- atan(-1) + pi = 3pi/4 radians; (3pi/4) * 180 / pi
- Result
- 2.356194490192345 radians; 135 degrees
