How This Converter Works
Calculates secant for an input angle, in degrees by default or radians when selected. Blank input clears the output, non-finite input shows Invalid input, and values with cosine magnitude below 1e-12 show Undefined. Other results use exactly 12 decimal places.
Formula or rule
sec(x) = 1 / cos(x), with degree inputs first converted by x * pi / 180
Example
- Input
- 60 degrees
- Calculation
- 1 / cos(60 * pi / 180)
- Result
- 2.000000000000
