Even Parity Checker
How This Converter Works
Checks whether a received binary word has even parity, counting every 1 including a parity bit if present.
Formula or rule
For nonempty binary input, even parity is valid exactly when the count of 1 bits modulo 2 is zero.
Example
- Input
- 1010
- Calculation
- There are two 1 bits; 2 mod 2 = 0, which satisfies even parity.
- Result
- No Error
